The Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute hosted the 7th Annual Taste of Spring event, on Thursday, May 13, 2010, to honor Peter Burki of LifeCare and Kobrand. The event was a success all around transition to new venue, inclusion of online auction, Board attendance and support, and surpassing our budget goal! Supporters and guests helped raise over $300,000. more
Winter 2010: L.A. Benefit
Location: Please click here for information about the event.Info: The Adoption Institute's Los Angeles Benefit – Celebrating ... Our Families, Our Children – was a success in every way. In addition to reuniting with West Coast friends, and making new ones, we were able to share information on many of the Institute's exciting projects. With the help of our Host Committee, we raised almost $90,000 in sponsorships and donations, more than meeting our goal for the event. This funding is vital to keep our work going in the coming year, and is especially important during the current recession, when other sources of support are strained. more
May 14, 2009: Annual "Taste of Spring" Gala New York City
Location: Midtown Loft 267 Fifth Avenue (29th Street)Info: On May 14, Institute supporters attending our annual "Taste of Spring" benefit got to mingle with stars including Hugh Jackman, Bette Midler and Kristin Chenoweth, while tasting gourmet foods prepared and served in person by master chefs Jean-Georges Vongrichten, David Burke, Jonathan Waxman and Zarela Martinez, among others. This year's Taste of Sprint, the Institute's major annual fundraising event, was a success in every sense, bringing together old friends of the Institute and creating new ones – while raising almost $300,000 to support our unique initiatives to improve adoption policy and practice. more
October 23, 2008: L.A. Benefit
Location: Los Angeles, CAInfo: This year's Adoption Institute Los Angeles Benefit, held on October 23, was a great success in every way, continuing the growth and presence of the Institute on the West Coast. Event hosts and adoptive parents Sue Naegle (President of HBO Entertainment) and Dana Gould (comedian and long-time writer on "The Simpsons") graciously opened their home to more than 80 guests. Actors Laura Dern, Zach Braff, Famke Janssen, Scott Lowell, Victoria Rowell, Regina Taylor, Nanci Christopher, and Taylor Treadwell joined other entertainment industry movers and shakers and adoption supporters to help raise funds, and to learn more about the Institute's efforts to make adoption work better for everyone it touches. more
August 16-17, 2008: Matt Rides the Rockies to Benefit the Institute
Location: ColoradoInfo: In order to raise support for the Institute named after his mother, Evan B. Donaldson, Matt Donaldson spent Aug. 16 through 17 participating in the Leadville Trail 100 - "The Race Across the Sky." This 100 mile ride through the Colorado Rockies covered forest trails and mountain roads as high as 12,600 feet above sea level. Matt's tremendous effort has already raised thousands of dollars to support our important work - and donations are still coming in. To contribute, please send your check to the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute's fourth annual "Taste of Spring" benefit in New York City on Wednesday, May 14 at Midtown Loft in New York, over 200 guests enjoyed great food, fabulous wines, wonderful music, and each other's company - all the while learning more about, and supporting, the Institute's work. The Adoption Institute, founded in 1996, is a unique, independent national nonprofit that provides leadership that improves adoption laws, policies and practices - through sound research, education and advocacy - in order to better the lives of everyone touched by adoption. more
November 9, 2007: "Rockin' for Our Kids" Benefit Concert Boston
The Institute Celebrated National Adoption Month with a Benefit Concert on Nov. 9. "Rockin' for Our Kids," held at the Spring Valley Country Club in suburban Sharon, MA, was a success (and a lot of fun) thanks to the contributions and participation of our New England supporters. The Adoption Institute hosted a fabulous fundraiser in Los Angeles on Oct. 25, with scores of supporters attending an enjoyable, enlightening and delicious (great food!) evening at a beautiful Beverly Hills home. October 26, 2006: 10 Year Anniversary Celebration on the West Coast
The Adoption Institute held a very successful fundraiser in California in late October at the home of Bernie Weinraub and Amy Pascal, who is the chair of Sony Pictures. The event brought in over $100,000 from individual and corporate supporters of the Institute's unique, important work; donors included Rosie's For All Kids Foundation, Northern Trust, Evercore Partners, United Talent Agency, Infinia, Microsoft, Variety, Endeavor, Caroline Fitzgibbons and Tad Smith, Ziffren Law Firm, Panerai, Casa Del Mar and Alease Fisher. May 24, 2006: Adoption Institute Plans Gala to Celebrate 10th Anniversary
On May 24, 2006, the Adoption Institute celebrated 10 years of providing unique, high-impact projects designed to improve the lives of everyone touched by adoption - especially children. The gala, entitled "A Taste of Spring," took place in New York City. The Board of Directors, staff, major donors and friends of the Institute gathered at the Midtown Loft for a joyous evening featuring feature celebrity chefs, winemakers, a silent auction and live music.
April, 14, 2005: "A Taste of Spring" Fundraiser
The Adoption Institute held its most successful fundraiser ever, "A Taste of Spring," at Christie's Auction House in New York City on April 14. As a result of the generosity of our supporters, the Institute will be able to continue improving adoption through its unique, high-impact programs and projects. In addition, on April 27, the Institute held a special adoption dinner/discussion with Executive Director Adam Pertman, in Washington D.C.; the dinner was part of a series of outreach events, with more planned around the country.
July 24, 2005: Matt Donaldson Completes Triathlon to Raise Funds for Institute
On Sunday July 24, 2005, Matt Donaldson - a member of our Board of Directors and son of the Institute's namesake - completed the Iron Man Triathlon in Lake Placid, N.Y. to raise tens of thousands of dollars for the Adoption Institute (Hooray, Matt!).
