INSTITUTE ADDS THREE PROMINENT ADOPTION EXPERTS AS SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWS
NEW YORK, May 5, 2011 – Three highly accomplished scholars are joining the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute as Senior Research Fellows, the Institute announced today. They are:
- Amanda Baden, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Counseling and Educational Leadership, at Montclair State University. Her research and clinical practice focus includes racial and cultural identity. She is an editor of The Handbook of Adoption: Implications for Researchers, Practitioners, and Families.
- Abbie Goldberg, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Psychology, at Clark University. Her research and teaching interests involve diverse families, sexuality and gender. Her numerous publications include the book Lesbian and Gay Parents and their Children: Research on the Family Life Cycle.
- Laurie Miller, M.D., Professor, Pediatrics, and founder of the International Adoption Clinic at Tufts Medical Center. She consults with nations around the world, has conducted numerous studies and projects, and has published widely, including The Handbook of International Adoption Medicine.

The other Senior Fellows – all among the most prominent and highly regarded researchers, lecturers, trainers and writers in the field today – are: Dr. Richard Barth of the University of Maryland; Dr. Devon Brooks of the University of Southern California; Professor Naomi Cahn of George Washington University Law School; Dr. Harold Grotevant of the University of Massachusetts; Dr. Victor Groza of Case Western Reserve University; Dr. Dana Johnson of the International Adoption Clinic at the University of Minnesota; Dr. Ruth McRoy of Boston College; Dr. Ellen Pinderhughes of Tufts University; and Dr. Scott Ryan of Texas State University.
