Policy And Practice
The Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute will focus its efforts on
develping and implementing a range of ethics-based policy and practice
initiatives that address the critical issues facing the field of adoption.
Early efforts have focused on legal and policy issues that impact adoption,
including the relationship between welfare reform and the adoption of
children in foster care, interstate barriers to adoption, and the law
related to access to identifying informtion. In 1999, additional key
policy and practice issues will be identifed and issue briefs will be
prepared to anlayze the ethical considerations of these issues and their
implications for quality adoption in the future.
