You are cordially invited to join Adam Pertman, Executive Director of the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute and a
Pulitzer Prize nominee for his writing about adoption, as the special guest at a dinner and reception in Washington D.C.
This unique event will interest anyone who is thinking about adopting, has adoption in their family, or simply wants to
participate in a stimulating discussion about an increasingly important part of American life. The evening of lively
conversation will include an informal welcome and wine reception, a three-course dinner, an address by Pertman,
followed by an open-forum question and answer session. In an intimate, relaxed setting, guests will have an
opportunity to learn, discuss their own experiences, and explore a variety of social and personal issues surrounding adoption.
One of the pre-eminent voices for adoption education and reform in the United States, Pertman is the author of
Adoption Nation: How the Adoption Revolution is Transforming America – which has been reviewed as "the most important
book ever written on the subject." The Adoption Institute, which he heads, conducts unique programs designed to improve
the lives of everyone touched by adoption, especially children. Pertman's commentaries have appeared in media nationwide,
and he has been a guest on programs including "Oprah," the "Today" show, and "Nightline." He is the father of two children
by adoption.
