Anthology: The First Generation of Korean Adoptees

The International Gathering of the First Generation of Korean Adoptees being held in Washington DC, September 10‹12, 1999, will bring together individuals who represent a diverse global history of experience, ideology, personalities and feelings. To give voice to this rich collection of personal experiences, Yeong & Yeong Book Company has generously agreed to publish an Anthology of creative works produced by the first generation of Korean adoptees.

Call for submissions. . .
Korean Adoptees born in 1978 and before are encouraged to submit stories, essays, poems, vignettes, photographs, photographs of multi-dimensional art work, and other creative expressions of their adoption experience. The Anthology is intended to be inclusive and seeks submissions which represent a broad range of experiences and perspectives on the theme of Korean adoption.

Guidelines: Anthology will be printed in black and white
Up to three submissions per person
Deadline for submission: March 31, 1999
Include name, address, phone, email address, brief biography

Writings:
Please submit typed manuscripts. If selected, a disk saved as a text or MS Word file would be especially helpful. There is no word limit but no more than 5 pages single spaced is suggested. Submissions may be edited for space and clarity, any changes will be subject to approval of author.

Photographs:
Please send 5x7 photo (if selected original negative or slide will be requested at that time)

Art:
Please send 5x7 quality reproduction of two dimensional art submissions. Sculpture, pottery or other art work, please send quality 5x7 black and white photo suitable for printing.

Please DO NOT send original art or manuscripts for consideration since preliminary submissions will not be returned. Please note also: the author/artist must be willing and able to grant non-exclusive publishing rights to Yeong & Yeong Book Company for the use of the submitted work in the Anthology.

• Selections will be made by the Gathering Adoptee Advisory Committee
• Submissions will be acknowledged when received
