FACULTY MEMBER BACKGROUND

Monica Farris Linkner

Ms. Linkner, B.A., J.D., specializes in adoption law, and is the principal member of the Adoption Law Center, P.C. in Michigan. She is a member of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and was a member of the Academy's Board of Trustees from 1995-99. She has served as Secretary of the Academy, and as a member of various Academy committees. She is also a member of the State Bar Family Law Section's Adoption Committee. As an adoptive parent, Ms. Linkner was closely involved in the process of adoption law reform in Michigan. She is also an advisor to the Uniform Adoption Act Drafting Committee of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws from 1991-94. She is the past president of The Family Tree, an adoption support and advocacy group. Ms. Linkner has also written many articles and spoken widely on adoption issues, and her achievements have been recognized in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in American Women, and Who's Who in the Midwest.
