FACULTY MEMBER BACKGROUND

Laura Williams

Ms. Williams is a child welfare manager in Sacramento County, California who is currently on loan to the State of California to help counties implement the new requirement for concurrent planning. Her expertise in this area was developed while the Sacramento manager for a bureau providing reunification, long term placement, adoption, and guardianship services to 2,500 children. She designed and implemented a concurrent permanency planning system that resulted in a 123% increase in the children returned to the custody of their parents and a 25% reduction in children entering long term foster care.
