Search and Reunion Research Study

DAI is collaborating with researchers from Montclair State University to study current professional practices assisting with adoption searches and reunions. Insight into the present status of adoption search practices will improve professional training and develop more effective services for the adoption kinship network.

We are seeking study participants who work in any capacity facilitating birth/first parent-adoptee searches and reunions, or root tracings. Possible participants include:

  • Employees of adoption agencies or child welfare organizations
  • A “Search Angel” or search facilitator
  • Social workers and therapists
  • Lawyers and investigators that assist with searches

If you fall into one of these categories, please take our brief survey. The information you provide will help us to improve research, training, and practice surrounding adoption.
